In 2023, CACEIS Bank, the CACEIS group’s French banking entity, was granted DASP (Digital Assets Service Provider) status by the AMF (France’s Financial Markets Authority), acting on the advice of the ACPR (France’s Prudential Control and Resolution Authority).
In July 2024, CACEIS Bank in Spain has become the first traditional bank and unique custody specialist in Spain to be granted as DASP (Digital Assets Service Provider) by the Bank of Spain.
The Bank of Spain registration enables CACEIS Bank in Spain to offer digital asset custody services to third parties and respond to growing demand from institutional clients.
This marks the first milestone in becoming a cryptoasset service provider, following the MiCA regulation's implementation in January 2025. The next step will be to submit the required license to the CNMV (National Securities Market Commission). Until the MICA license is granted, CACEIS Bank in Spain can continue offering its services until December 2025, as it is already registered with the Bank of Spain.
