CACEIS is enhancing its digital asset services with reception & transmission of orders (RTO) for its clients on exchanges

One of the major challenges for early 2025 will be helping EU investors trade the main crypto-assets in compliance with MiCA’s (Markets in Crypto-Assets) regulatory principles. Here, the key challenge is interfacing with a centralised exchange (CEX) or digital asset exchange platform managed by a company or other organisation.

One of the expected effects of MiCA’s implementation is the relocation to the EU of crypto asset custody services, at least for institutional clients domiciled in Europe.

This is not the case for order execution, which is not currently subject to regulatory requirements for crypto-asset service providers domiciled in the European Union. CACEIS aims to be a leading European player in the custody of digital assets and is adopting a tightly regulated approach to relations between its clients and the centralised exchanges they use.

By requesting authorisation from the AMF for the reception and transmission of orders (RTO) on crypto assets, CACEIS Bank in France will support its clients in their acquisition and sale of crypto assets from 2025 onwards. This new service will provide efficient settlement of their Blockchain-based buying and selling operations with a service that is streamlined and securely integrated into CACEIS’ digital asset custody solution.

CACEIS Bank in France will apply a rigorous selection policy for its intermediaries and will perform the required due diligence to ensure the smooth execution and settlement of transactions.

Hubert Grignon DumoulinWhen setting up our independent services, we will apply best practices for order transmission, operational risk management and cyber security, in line with the requirements of European regulators and for the benefit of our clients,” concludes Hubert Grignon Dumoulin, Digital Assets Manager.
